JULY 16, 2000: BACK ON TRACK
This interim update is brought to you courtesy of Smooth Move
laxative tea. Not much terribly exciting happening here on the
Left Coast. I've been pretty much in constant motion, spending
a good portion of time in between Miami, LA and San Diego in
the past few weeks. What can I say? I'm a regular jetsetter.
Back for an indefinite period of time, I look forward to the
next few weeks of relaxation with my peeps at home. Since the
big features are not complete yet, I have posted some smaller,
albeit quite amusing updates to tie you all over until my extremely
lackadaisical correspondents get their collective shows together.
LA STORIES
While Charlie is out in the field getting together testimonials
for his Smooth Move piece, he has sent me several new celebrity
sightings (including none other than Ice-f-ing-T of Colors fame).
I have also posted a cry for help he recently sent me regarding
the musical torture he was receiving at his day job. Check it
out at LA STORIES.
MISSING BOTTOMS
While Shane's coverage of Summer Harvest is still being assembled,
I have posted an amusing, albeit disgusting story that Shane
sent me a while back. It deals with the unusual and somewhat
flagrant violations of human dignity that occur in your common
garden-variety college campus. The
Mad Crapper is not for the faint of heart, but is definitely
humorous.
CASAJP.MUSIC
I've recently added a review of the 1999 album "Things
Fall Apart" by The Roots. They incidentally won a Grammy
for best Rap Album earlier this year. Check it out at CasaJP.Music.
You will also notice that I have redesigned the music page and
added a music search function and a section with the latest news
in the music business (updated constantly).
LEYDEN'S LOG
Tom's Final Thoughts from his weekly radio show are
updated every Tuesday (more or less), so check in to see what
he has to say at LEYDEN'S
LOG. Also, a compilation of the latest sports news
(updated constantly) from the leading sports sites can be now
read at his page any day.
[For those who want to join Tom Leyden and his cohorts
at the live recording of his weekly talkshow, The Sports Hour,
feel free to drop by the ESPN Zone on 42nd Street in Manhattan's
Time Square at around 8PM on Monday nights]
THE 1 CARD
The 1 Card is currently on hiatus. He is working on
a feature piece which will uncover the seedy underworld of pre-teen
music festivals. It promises to be quite engaging. Check back
next time.
