JUNE 13, 2000: QUICK UPDATE
Hey y'all. Estoy chilling in San Antonio, on bidniz so I
thought I'd throw a quick update your way.
FATHER'S DAY PICKS
I have taken the liberty of putting together a pretty comprehensive list of affordable gifts you can get for your pops online for this coming Father's Day (this Sunday). They range from shades to fishing equipment to watches to beef to liquor and much more. While I may not have covered everyone's tastes, I think that the online retailers I have listed (such as Gear.com) have a huge selection of products which can be delivered in time for Father's Day. If you do order anything from any of the retailers listed on the page, CasaJP gets a little commission which it will plow back into R&D (beer) and will bring it further on its way to being a real, legitimate website. So, instead of surfing the web for gift ideas, use the Father's Day page as a starting point. Click on FATHER'S DAY PICKS to check it out.
LEYDEN'S LOG
Tom has tossed some commentary our way on that John Rocker guy (a real class act). Go check it out at LEYDEN'S
LOG. Don't forget to catch his weekly radio show, STT Sports Talk radio program (on WEVD, New York, 1050AM) every Monday at 8PM. Or you can catch it on the Internet for those of you not living in "the capital of the world" at www.1050wevd.com.
ORDER FOOD
That's right, in the latest extension to the CasaJP brand, I now offer a direct link to all the delivery services in your area. Say you're surfing CasaJP and you start feeling that little gnawing reminder that you are hun-gry. All you gots to do it click on the pull-down menu and go to ORDER FOOD. You will be transported to Food.com's website and within 45 minutes, you'll have some tasty ass little grubbies coming your way. Plus, CasaJP gets a little commission for every clickthrough, registration and order, which, with all the traffic we get could have me retiring in a couple years.
JUNE 5, 2000: RELAUNCH
Welcome back to CasaJP, new and improved. Actually, it is neither
new nor improved, but hey, at least its back. As two or three
of you may know, CasaJP suffered a serious setback back in April
due to negligence on the part of Cox Cable, my cable modem provider
(see press releases).
Cox Communications actually made news recently when it "accidentally"
published the phone numbers and addresses of thousands of digital
telephone subscribers who had heretofore chosen anonymity. One
police officer who had decided to go with the unpublished number
for the safety and privacy of his family was quoted as saying:
"Those Cox-______s better find my ass a new home and an
unlisted number toot sweet, or they'll have me all up inside
they business with a class action." Anyways, this is proof
that they are still incompetent (which is why I now backup my
site daily).
The following are the latest additions to the CasaJP lineup
and which promise to be updated with some regularity.
THE 1 CARD
The 1 Card is brought to you by our latest contributor, who goes
simply by the initials CRB1 hailing "straight out of Brooklyn.
He is actually a professional writer who is sidelining as an
ar-tiste here on CasaJP. Although he has sent me a great number
of submissions, time constraints have allowed me to post only
three. The others will go up in due time.
His first submission, "Shout
Out," is a rather long, rambling (and entertaining)
shout out to all "his peeps." If you know this mysterious
CRB1 character, chances are he throws some props your way. If
you don't know him, then you may find amusement in his charaterization
of dozens of his close acquaintances.
The next, "Taxi
Cab Poetry" was literally penned in a taxicab
by an extremely intoxicated author attempting to capture the
stream- of - conscious aspect of riding in a NYC taxi cab. Be
sure you scroll down to the answer key on each observation to
get the full effect.
The final submission, "Instant
Ruminations" is really a sort of collaboration
between the two of us and is quite simply a transcript of an
Instant Messaging session, which in our infinite wisdom, we found
to be quite droll, or at least somewhat clever.

LEYDEN'S LOG
This column was provided to me as a service by Tommy
Leyden who understood that I had a tenuous grasp on all things
American, particularly in my understanding of that all-important
male-bonding ritual known as professional sports. Having worked
at some of the top professional sports organizations such as
the NFL and NHL, Tommy is now hosting a weekly talkshow on the
AM dial (WEVD 1050AM) along with other notorious pundits such
as Tom Luzarraga and Doug Barker. It is a rather humorous call-in
talk show that has the three sitting around talking smack about
sports and enlightening the masses on the American pasttime.
For CasaJP, Tom will be sending in weekly commentary, known
as Final Thoughts, in which he will briefly cover a subject from
the previous weeks sports headlines. Check
it out and visit LEYDEN'S
LOG.
PINDELDYBOZ
Those of you who have visited CasaJP BC (before crash),
know Pindeldyboz well. You may have witnessed his hyper-sensitive
human observational skills and his sartorial wit (huh?) dealing
with some of his favorite topics from the Women's World Cup of
Soccer ("Chicks
with Kicks") to the world's greatest, almost-world-famous
local band ("Wheatus").
He has also contributed "Isabella's
Body," a creative piece about a woman who makes
a living posing nude in front of the camera.
The latest offering to come from Jeffrey is a mind-numbing
(in a good way) parody on word problems, which, while taking
a playful poke at the convoluted and criminally complex logic
puzzles encountered on the standardized test circuit, he actually
succeeds in creating one that works. Go to
PINDELDYBOZ
to check it out.
LOS ANGELES STORIES
While our L.A. correspondent has been "too busy" to
offer us any of his side-splitting irony, I have none-the-less
managed to dig up some disturbingly humorous letters, emails
and photographs by which his legacy can continue to be passed
on. Go to LA
STORIES to see what's new.
THE REST
The wedding page has been finally updated to include more pictures
and a guestbook. Check out the WEDDING PAGE.
The Costa Rica page has been slightly modified to include
a photo album section so that one may browse the pics without
having to sift through my rambling treatise. COSTA
RICA
You can now check out some pictrures of the new house
and the remodelling
process as well. The dog
is here too.
The Archive
will host everything else that I can think of.
